Champion Lunga ‘Pressure Cooker’ Sitemela’s South African junior-lightweight title defence against East London boxer Khanyile Bulana, which was pencilled for this coming Sunday, has been postponed.

The postponement was confirmed by both fight promoter Jackie Brice of Jackie Brice Boxing Promotions and Sitemela.

“Yes, the tournament has been postponed because of a number of issues. We are now working on a new date. We might have the tournament on the 13th of November,” Brice said.

Sitemela, who was born in Dordrecht in the Eastern Cape, said: “The fight has been postponed for November. I was told about the pstponement on Friday last week.”

Sitemela is yet to make a defence of the national title since winning it after he dethroned former champion Sibusiso Zingange in May this year.

On the other hand, Bulana has not fought since his first round loss to former International Boxing Organisation (IBO) junior-lightweight champion Michael Magnesi in Italy in April last year.
