AmaZulu coach Romain ‘Fohloza’ Folz has said that he always knew that he would pick up his first win in South Africa one day despite waiting for more than two months before that happened.

A win had eluded Folz for some time until he led Usuthu to a 1-0 win over Stellenbosch FC in a DStv Premiership match at the King Zwelithini Stadium in Umlazi, Durban, on Sunday.

“It was just a matter of time. I knew it was going to happen at some point, for sure,” the 32-year-old Frenchman said.

“We approached the game very well. We tried to be a team on the ball in the first 30 minutes. Our decision going into the half was not the best. The offensive support that we tried to implement with one midfielder paid off and gave us a good game.”

Meanwhile, Usuthu’s focus has now shifted to the MTN8 final where they meet Orlando Pirates at the Moses Mabhida Stadium in Durban on Saturday.

After facing the Buccaneers, Usuthu will play against Mamelodi Sundowns in the Carling Black Label Cup at the FNB Stadium in Nasrec, Johannesburg, on Saturday, 12 November.
