Morocco won their first match at the FIFA World Cup finals since 1998 as they defeated Belgium 2-0 in a group stages clash at the Al Thumama Stadium in Doha, Qatar, on Sunday afternoon.
The Atlas Lions were always threatening during the match and they finally scored through Abdelhamid Sabiri’s curled free kick in the 71st minute.
Zakaria Aboukhlal put matters beyond doubt when he scored Moroco’s second goal following an assist from Hakim Ziyech in referee’s added time.
The North Africans now have four points after they played to a goalless draw with Croatia in their opening match.
