Croatia crushed Canada 4-1 in a 2022 FIFA World Cup group stages tie at the Khalifa International Stadium in Doha, Qatar, on Sunday evening.

Canada took an early lead when Alphonso Davies’ powerful header gave the Canadians their first ever World Cup goal in the second minute of the match.

The Croats cancelled Canada’s lead with Andrej Kramaric’s equaliser in the 36th minute. Eight minutes later, the Croats took the lead for the first time when Marko Livaja netted.

Given acres of space by the Canadian defence inside the box, the 31-year-old Kramaric from 1899 Hoffenheim made it 3-1 in the 70th minute. Lovro Majer scored Croatia’s fourth in added time.
