Nothing separated Spain and Germany as they drew 1-1 in a 2022 FIFA World Cup finals group stages encounter at the Bayt Stadium in Al Khor, Qatar, on Sunday evening.

Both goals were scored by second half substitutes with Alvaro Morata netting for La Roja while Niclas Fullkrug equalised for the Germans.

Morata beat German goalkeeper Manuel Neuer from a Jordi Alba cross in the 62nd minute. Morata had only been on the field for eight minutes after he had replaced Ferran Torres in the 54th minute.

On the other hand, Fullkrug levelled matters in the 83rd minute to delay La Roja’s march to the second round of the tournament.

Meanwhile, the Spaniards are going to face Japan in their final group stages match and Germany will play against Costa Rica.
