England advanced to the second round of the 2022 FIFA World Cup finals after they beat Wales 3-0 at the Ahmad bin Ali Stadium in Al Rayyan, Qatar, on Tuesday evening.
After there was no score at half-time, England made their intentions clear as they surged forward in search of a goal. Marcus Rashford netted his second goal of the World Cup tournament with a stunning free kick from outside the box in the 50th minute.
Two minutes later, Manchester City star Phil Foden doubled England’s lead when he scored following Harry Kane’s cross.
Rashford from Manchester United completed his brace in the 68th minute scoring his third goal of the tournament and England’s 100th goal in the World Cup finals.
Meanwhile, the United States of America also reached the last-16 after they overcame Iran 1-0 through Christian Pulisic’s 39th minute goal at the Al Thumama Stadium in Doha.
