Top South African whistleman Victor Homes is going to be the 23rd man on the field when Japan clash against Spain in a Group E FIFA World Cup match at 21h00 on Thursday.
The 39-year-old Gomes will be assisted by experienced South African assistant referee Zakhele Siwela and Souru Phatsoane from Lesotho.
Rwandan Salima Mukansanga is going to be the fourth official and will complete an-all African four-member refereeing team.
The quartet worked together in the match between world champions France and Australia at the Al Janoub Stadium in Al Wakrah last week.
