Cameroon became the first African nation to beat Brazil in a FIFA World Cup tournament when they defeated Selecao 1-0 at the Lusail Iconic Stadium in Lusail, Qatar, on Friday evening.
However, the Indomitable Lions’ famous victory didn’t stop them from bowing out of the 2022 FIFA World Cup finals as they finished third in Group G behind Brazil and Switzerland.
Indomitable Lions captain Vincent Aboubakar headed in in referee’s added time following Jerome Ngom Mbekeli’s cross. Aboubakar was unfortunately red carded after he took off his shirt while celebrating the goal against the five-time world champions.
Switzerland finished second in Group G after they beat Serbia 3-2. The Swiss have now set themselves a clash against Portugal in the last-16 while the Brazilians will face Korea Republic.
