Australia wrapped up the three-match series after they recorded their biggest win over the Proteas on home soil beating them by an innings and 182 runs in the third Test at the Melbourne Cricket Ground on Thursday.
After declaring on 575 for eight on Wednesday, Australia sent in the Proteas to bat. However, the South Africans were bowled out for 204 in 64.4 overs in the second innings handing Australia the victory after they had knocked 189 all out in the first innings.
Temba Bavuma tried to steady the Proteas ship knocking 65 runs, but it was not enough as the Australian bowlers were in mean mood. The 32-year-old Bavuma was caught at mid-on by Marcus Harris after he was bowled by Nathan Lyon.
Meanwhile, 36-year-old Australia opening batsman David Warner was named as the player of the match following his double century.
