Ayanda Ndulani feels that he has paid his dues and it’s time for him to swim with the boxing world’s big sharks as he clashes with Mexican boxer Luis Castillo next month.

Ndulani is going to take his fistic career further as he fights against Castillo in a World Boxing Council (WBC) minimumweight elimination bout at the Inkosi Albert Luthuli International Convention Centre in Durban on Saturday, 25 February.

“This is a very big opportunity for me and I’m very happy. I feel great. Fighting in a WBC elimination bout means a lot to me. I have told myself that I will be a WBC champion one day. It’s time for me to fight against the best boxers in the world,” Ndulani, who is still the reigning International Boxing Organisation (IBO) minimumweight champion, remarked.

Victory over the unbeaten Castillo will take Ndulani to a mandatory challenge fight against current WBC minimumweight champion Panya Pradabsri, who is also known as Petchmanee CP Freshmart from Thailand.

The 31-year-old Ndulani from Scenery Park in East London is rated number one by the WBC and Castillo is right behind him. Ndulani has registered 13 victories (four knockouts), two losses and a draw while Castillo has won 20 fights (13 stoppages) and drawn once.
