Ilunga Makabu is scheduled to defend his World Boxing Council (WBC) cruiserweight title against Swede Badou Jack next month.

Johannesburg-based Makabu from the Democratic Republic of Congo (DRC) and Jack are going to clash in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia, on Sunday, 26 February. This is the 35-year-old Makabu’s third defence of the WBC crown he won when he defeated Michal Cieslak from Poland in January 2020.

Makabu, who is trained by Damien Durandt in Johannesburg, beat South African boxer Thabiso Mchunu by a split decision in the United States a year ago.

Originally from Stockholm in Sweden, the 39-year-old Jack is now based in Las Vegas, Nevada, in the US.
