Mamelodi Sundowns maintained their unbeaten run as they recorded their 15th straight victory following a 1-0 win over Orlando Pirates in a DStv Premiership match at the Orlando Stadium in Soweto on Saturday afternoon.
The Brazilians raced to an early lead when Cassius Mailula beat Pirates goalkeeper Sipho Chaine in the sixth minute for his seventh goal of the season following a defensive blunder by the Buccaneers.
The Soweto giants didn’t give up, especially in the second half where they put the Tshwane giants on the back foot. It was a combination of bad luck and wayward shooting by Pirates, which denied them a goal.
