Algerian side USM Alger defeated Marumo Gallants 2-0 in a CAF Confederation Cup Group A encounter at Stade du 5 Juillet in Algiers, Algeria, on Sunday evening.
The Algerians led 1-0 at half-time through Abderrahmane Meziane’s 39th minute goal. Zineddine Belaïd scored USM’s second goal in the 89th minute to hand Gallants their first loss in three group stages matches.
The Algerians have now moved to the top of the Group A standings after winning twice and drawing once while Gallants are second with two wins and a loss.
