Cape Town City recorded their sixth successive win after they beat Lamontville Golden Arrows 1-0 in a DStv Premiership encounter at the Mpumalanga Stadium in Hammersdale on Sunday evening.
The only goal of this match was scored by Khanyisa Mayo in the eighth minute. This was the Mthatha-born Mayo’sseve the goal of the season.
As a result of the victory, the Citizens flew to the top of the Premiership standings with 25 points – one more than second-placed Mamelodi Sundowns.
The Citizens have registered eight wins, a draw and four losses while the Brazilians have won all their eight matches.
