The National Professional Boxing Promoters Association (NPBPA) has called an urgent meeting to discuss the recent appointment of the Boxing South Africa (BSA) board.
Minister of Sport Zizi Kodwa announced a new seven-member board on Tuesday and appointed Sifiso Shongwe as the chairperson. Shongwe is going to work together with Luxolo September, Sakhiwe Sodo, Romy Titus, Nande Mheshe, Princess Mangoma and Dr Mary-Gene Manthata-Setati.
According to a circular sent by NPBPA deputy secretary Phathutshedzo Dongola, the meeting is going to be held virtually at 19h00 on Thursday. Dongola has invited all NPBPA executive committee members, provincial chairpersons and secretaries to the meeting.
Thursday’s meeting follows after the NPBPA executive met on Wednesday to discuss the appointment of the new BSA board.
