Tunisian journalist Ahmed Adala has revealed that Bafana Bafana coach Hugo Broos had agreed to coach Tunisia’s Carthage Eagles.

In an interview with Thabiso Mosia on Radio 2000 on Tuesday evening, Adala said: “We didn’t say that Hugo Broos has signed with the Tunisian Football Federation. We are saying he is close to signing. Already, on the 22nd February, we were told it’s happening and he’s agreed in principle. Even if he denies now.

“He was told to wait for the congress of the Tunisian Football Federation, which was supposed to be on 9 March. But it was delayed, maybe that’s why he hasn’t signed yet. He was very clear that he wants to leave South Africa because he wants to be closer to his family in Belgium and Tunisia gives him that opportunity.”

Meanwhile, the 71-year-old Belgian is going to lead Bafana when they face Algeria in an international friendly match at the Nelson Mandela Stadium in Algiers on Tuesday evening.
