Being the second South African boxer to fight in a Premier Boxing Champions (PBC) tournament has brought a smile on Lerato ‘Lights Out’ Dlamini’s face as he’s preparing for his clash against Ukranian Arnold Khegai.
Dlamini and Khegai are going to clash in an International Boxing Federation (IBF) featherweight elimination bout probably in July in the United States of America (USA).
This fight went to purse bids after Dlamini’s handlers and Bob Arum’s Top Rank failed to come to an agreement on purses.
“I’m very happy to be the second South African boxer to fight in a PBC tournament. I’m very happy and relieved that I’m finally going to fight. I have been patient enough. This is not just any other platform, it’s PBC, a massive platform. A big thank you to them for helping us,” Dlamini said.
Dlamini from Welkom in the Free State is rated number two in the featherweight division by the IBF while the Ukranian is one place below him.
