Ncedo Cecane has been given a task of guiding Siseko Makeleni to war when the Mthatha boxer goes to battle against unbeaten Kaine Fourie in Johannesburg next month.

Makeleni meets Fourie in a vacant International Boxing Federation (IBF) Continental Africa lightweight title fight at the Box Camp in Booysens on Saturday, 13 July.

“Due to high demand, busy schedule at work this month, I thought boxing should not stop because of my demanding job and exams. I then spoke to Ncedo Cecane and asked him to help me by training Makeleni and he agreed,” Makeleni’s trainer Amanda Magatya revealed.

“I have an assessment from national and also have an assignment that I still have to submit. I don’t want to fail Makeleni thus I spoke to Ncedoz. Makeleni is going to start working with him on Monday. I’m hopeful that Ncedoz and Makeleni will work well together. I will also pop in at the gym when I get a chance.”

Cecane, a former South African flyweight champion, is in Gauteng where he’s going to guide Siphamandla Baleni during a fight against Zimbabwean boxer Beaven Sibanda at the Emperor’s Palace in Kempton Park, Ekurhuleni, on Saturday evening. – Monwabisi Jimlongo
