South Africa’s most active boxer and former world champion Xolisani ‘Nomeva’ Ndongeni will be on the road again as he will be engaged in his fourth fight since the beginning of the year.

The erstwhile South African and International Boxing Organisation (IBO) lightweight champion has a date with unbeaten Argentine boxer Alan Abel Chaves at the Estadio F.A.B in Buenos Aires, Argentina, on Saturday, 20 July (Sunday, 21 July, South African time).

“At the moment, I’m not sure about the date of departure,” Ndongeni, who’s been training in East London for a week now, said.

This is going to be the fourth time that KwaBhaca-born Ndongeni clashes against an unbeaten boxer since July last year.  Ndongeni faced Raymond Muratalla, Arnold Barboza Junior and Ernesto Mercado, who were all unbeaten.

This year, Ndongeni won once – stoppage win over Malawian Crispin Moliati – while losing twice to Muratalla and Barboza Junior.

Meanwhile, the 23-year-old Chaves, who is a southpaw from San Miguel in Buenos Aires, has stopped 14 of his 16 victims. – Monwabisi Jimlongo
