Mapule Ngubane is going to leave the comfort of her home and travel to Australia as she’s pencilled to square up against Australian Desley ‘Lady D’ Robinson in Melbourne later this month.

Pietermaritzburg-born Ngubane clashes with Robinson in a vacant IBF Intercontinental female middleweight title contest at The Melbourne Pavilion in Flemington on Friday, 23 August.

Ngubane is more experienced compared to her Australian opponent as she has 24 fights, having won 13 times, lost eight and drew three. On the other hand, Robinson has seven wins and three defeats.

This is going to the reigning South African female middleweight champion’s first fight since she beat Kenyan boxer Charity Mukami Mjwiri in Emalahleni last October.

Meanwhile, Robinson from Logan City in Queensland defeated Thai boxer Suchada Panich in Thailand earlier this month.
