Hard-hitting South African champion Siyakholwa Kuse has secured a new date for his national minimumweight title defence, which is against Malaki Sobolo from Duncan Village.

Initially scheduled to face off against Sobolo on Sunday, 4 August, before their fight got postponed for seven days and ultimately called off, Kuse now makes the first defence of the SA minimumweight title at the Orient Theatre in East London on Sunday, 25 August.

Kuse from Mdantsane recaptured the title after he defeated Mthatha-born Bangile Nyangani in a rematch at the East London International Convention Centre (ICC), in July last year.

Meanwhile, former SA junior-flyweight champion Nhlanhla ‘Mount Kilimanjaro’ Tyirha is going to make a come back against Zimbabwean Ndabezinhle Phiri in the same tournament.

Tyirha from Mdantsane has not fought since he suffered a shock eighth round stoppage loss to Malawian George Kandulo in July last year.
