Following the failure of his fight against Pakistani boxer Muhammad ‘Falcon’ Waseem, unbeaten KwaZulu-Natal boxer Sabelo ‘Mkhonto’ Cebekhulu has now secured a date with Charlton Malajika.
Initially, Cebekhulu was scheduled to face off against the 34-year-old Waseem in a vacant World Boxing Federation (WBF) bantamweight title fight in Malta last Friday.
The fight then got moved to this coming Friday before it was finally cancelled after Waseem was denied a European visa by Denmark something which made it difficult for him to travel to Malta where the bout was going to be held.
Now the 23-year-old Cebekhulu, who boasts seven wins with three stoppages, is preparing for the Malajika fight, which is scheduled for Sunday, 27 October, at the Emperor’s Palace in Kempton Park.
The 23-year-old Cebekhulu will go to the Malajika bout on the back of a third round technical knockout win over Layten Gloss in July last year.
Meanwhile, this is going to be Malajika’s fourth fight this year having won all his three earlier bouts. The 23-year-old Malajika’s last fight was a win over Lopez Maluleke in Randfontein in August.
