A 10-man Raja Club Athletic defeated a nine men Mamelodi Sundowns 1-0 in a CAF Champions League match at Stade Larbi Zaouli in Casablanca, Morocco, on Saturday evening.
The Brazilians finished the first half with 10 players after their midfielder Bathusi Aubaas was red carded by match referee Abdel Aziz Mohamed Bouh five minutes before half-time.
Netherlands-born central defender Benaissa Benamar scored the only goal of the match during the referee’s added time.
Raja were also reduced to 10 men when the referee sent off Marouane Zila 10 minutes before the end of the match. And disaster struck again for Sundowns as Khuliso Mudau was red carded in referee’s added time leaving the Brazilians with nine players.
