Xolisani ‘Nomeva’ Ndongeni flew out of South Africa for Türkiye on Sunday evening as he has a date with unbeaten Armenian boxer Hovhannes Bachkov in an International Boxing Association (IBA) Pro Intercontinental junior-welterweight title on Wednesday.
The former International Boxing Organisation (IBO) lightweight champion’s fight against the Armenian is scheduled for Rixos Tersane Istanbul, Türkiye.
This is KwaBhaca-born Ndongeni’s second fight of the year having beaten Puerto Rican Nestor Bravo in a World Boxing Association (WBA) Intercontinental junior-welterweight title in Puerto Rico in March while Bachkov defeated Jose Rivas Bastardo from Venezuela in Dubai three months ago.
The 35-year-old Ndongeni carries a professional record of 33 wins with 19 knockouts and six losses to the fight. On the other hand, Bachkov has won all his seven fights with six of those wins being stoppages.
