With its three-year term in office having expired last month, the executive of the National Professional Boxing Promoters Association (NPBPA) has asked for a meeting with Boxing South Africa (BSA).
The latest developments were revealed to Ink Sport by BSA chief executive officer Tsholofelo Lejaka.
“From BSA side, we can confirm that we have received a request from the Promoters Association through their treasurer Mr Kaya Majeke to meet us,” Lejaka said.
“The meeting will update us on the state of organisation of the association and plans for their conference. So, we look forward to that meeting as it would allow us to get a proper sense of the state of affairs within the association.”
The NPBPA executive led by Ayanda Matiti as its chairperson was elected at a tense elective conference in Durban on the 22nd of October 2022. Matiti was deputised by Lebo Mahoko with Zandile Malinga being the secretary while Phathutshedzo Dongola was her deputy and Kaya Majeke, the treasurer. – Monwabisi Jimlongo
