The Indomitable Lions of Cameroon have advanced to the quarter-finals of the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations tournament after a 2-1 win over Bafana Bafana at the Al-Medina Stadium in Rabat, Morocco, on Sunday evening.

After starting the match brightly, Bafana conceded the first goal as Junior Baptiste Tchamadeu gave the Indomitable Lions the lead in the 34th minute. And Christian Michel Kofane increased the Indomitable Lions’ lead two minutes into the second half.

Bafana made forays into the Indomitable Lions’ half and their efforts were rewarded when second half substitute Evidence Makgopa netted in the 88th minute.

Following their victory, the Indomitable Lions will now face hosts Morocco in the last eight of the tournament on Friday evening.

The Atlas Lions reached the quarter-finals after they defeated Tanzania’s Taifa Stars 1-0 through Brahim Abdelkader Díaz from an Achraf Hakimi Mouh’s assist in an earlier match played at the Prince Moulay Abdellah Stadium in Rabat.
