It’s a very good news story as former ball boy Puso Dithejane was welcomed as one of the players at Major League Soccer (MLS) side Chicago Fire on Monday.

Dithejane, who was deemed not good enough to play for Kaizer Chiefs, joined the MLS club from TS Galaxy.

“Welcome to the club, Puso. We have acquired winger Puso Dithejane from TS Galaxy FC of South Africa’s Betway Premiership,” a Chicago Fire statement said.

Dithejane will be in good company at Chicago Fire as he’s going to become Mbekezeli Mbokazi’s teammate. Mbokazi recently joined the US side from Orlando Pirates.

The former Chiefs ball boy signed a four-and-a-half year contract with Chicago Fire. The MLS side have an option to extend the contract to 2031.
