Sinethemba Badela has lost a coaching job for the second time in one season as he is no longer the Durban City coach after leaving the club on Monday.

The 35-year-old Badela from Sterkspruit in the Eastern Cape got fired by Chippa United earlier this season. Interestingly, Badela’s last two matches in charge of Durban City were against the Chilli Boys.

“Durban City FC confirms that the club has parted ways with head coach Sinethemba Badela by mutual agreement,” a Durban City statement said.

“Following a comprehensive internal review, the club concluded that the time required to fully embed this philosophy was not compatible with the immediate competitive demands of the current campaign. With thirteen critical fixtures remaining in the season, the environment requires a level of experience, operational readiness and short-term stability to navigate the pressures both on and off the pitch.”

Badela had succeeded Gavin Hunt, who was sacked by the Durban club this season. Hunt now coaches Stellenbosch FC in the Cape Winelands.
