Mamelodi Sundowns have advanced to the quarter-finals of the CAF Champions League after they beat Algerian side MC Alger 2-0 in a Group C match at Loftus Versfeld in Pretoria on Saturday afternoon.
The Brazilians took an early lead after Arthur Sales’ effort forced a save from Alger goalkeeper Alexes Guendouz, but Brayan León was in the right place at the right time as he scored for the Tshwane giants in the sixth minute.
The 25-year-old Colombian doubled Sundowns’ lead when he completed his brace in the 63rd minute for his fourth goal in six appearances.
