With Hlumelo Gingxana having won the vacant Eastern Cape lightweight title recently, now Oyisa Gingxana wants to emulate his elder brother and also become a provincial champion.

And in a bid to bring a second provincial title to their Braelyn home in KuGompo City, Oyisa will take on Athi Klaas from Border Post in a vacant Eastern Cape junior-bantamweight title contest at the Ncumisa Kondlo Hall in Peddie this coming Sunday.

“I have been preparing for this fight for quite a long time. I’m ready for this fight. I have been in the gym since the cancellation of my fight, which was going to be held on the 14th of December,” Oyisa said.

Oyisa’s brother Hlumelo won the vacant Eastern Cape lightweight title after he stopped Aphiwe Magobiyane in the second round at the Thobi Kula Indoor Sports Centre in Komani almost two weeks ago.

“Hlumelo’s win has motivated me to push harder and go become a champion. That’s exactly what’s going to happen on Sunday. The title is coming to Braelyn,” Oyisa remarked. – Monwabisi Jimlongo
