Banyana Banyana got off to a positive start as they whipped Malawi 2-0 in their opening match of the 2025 COSAFA Women’s Championship at the Old Peter Mokaba Stadium in Polokwane on Wednesday afternoon.
After the two sides failed to score at the end of the first half, Banyana took the lead through Sibulele Holweni in the 63rd minute. And onolo Mokoma added the second goal in referee’s added time.
Meanwhile, Banyana coach Desiree Ellis’ side will play their second match of the tournament against their Angolan counterparts at the same Polokwane venue on Saturday.
