The kind of confidence that Errikie Errikie is showing makes one to believe that boxing fans are in for a treat when the Namibian boxer clashes with Lonwabo Sizani at the Guild Theatre in KuGompo City on Saturday afternoon.
After making the required weight with ease, the 21-year-old Errikie declared that Sizani does not deserve to share the same ring with him and he will defeat the Mdantsane lad when they fight for the vacant World Boxing Council (WBC) Silver Youth junior-lightweight title.
“I’m 100 percent sure that I’m going to win the fight. I came here for one thing, to win. I’m a better fighter compared to him. He’s not in my class,” a confident Errikie said on Friday afternoon.
Sizani’s trainer Mzi Dintsi, a former South African junior-bantamweight champion, laughed out loud after hearing what Errikie said about his charge.
“He can say whatever he wants to say, he knows that he’s not going to win. He’s gonna see how we do things inside the ring,” Dintsi said.
Sizani, who will be fighting for the third time at the Guild Theatre, has won all his five fights with knockouts. On the other hand, Errikie from Walvis Bay has won four times with two of those victories coming from stoppages while losing once.
Meanwhile, veteran fight official Siphiwo Mbini is going to be the third man in the ring when the gong goes off with Ben Ncapai, Vuyokazi Ncata and Thandi Ngodwana being the judges. – Monwabisi Jimlongo
