Rofhiwa Nemushungwa has always wanted to engage in a title contest and it’s easy to figure out why he’s happy now that he’s going to fight against Ronald Malindi.

And Nemushungwa says that he’s going to make Malindi pay for his social media utterances when they meet in Mpumalanga on Friday, 8 July.

He added that he wants to teach Malindi a lesson after the reigning South African bantamweight champion wrote on Facebook saying that the challenger does not deserve to be in the same ring as him.

“I’m very happy that we’ve got a date. I can’t wait to go inside the ring and fight Ronald Malindi. We were supposed to have fought two years ago. Last year he tested positive for COVID-19 a day before our fight,” Nemushungwa said.

Initially, Thohoyandou-born Nemushungwa signed a contract with TK Boxing Promotions for a 29 May fight against Malindi. But the champion’s handlers refused to sign the contract citing short notice.

“He said a fight on the 29th of May was short notice. He then went on to insult me on Facebook. He’s going to pay for insulting me and being disrespectful,” Nemushungwa, who is trained by Alan Toweel in Johannesburg, said.

“I’m going to force him to respect me. I wanna punish him inside the ring. Thereafter, I will tell him that it’s nothing personal. I don’t think Ronald will last the distance.”
