Two months after winning the South African female junior-bantamweight title, Thema Zuma will step into the ring and fight again.
Zuma, who overcame Bathabile Ziqubu to win the national title, is set to face off with former SA female bantamweight champion Melissa Miller at the Olive Convention Centre, Durban, on Saturday, 27 August.
This duel between the two female boxers is an African Boxing Union (ABU) title contest and it’s going to be the third time Zuma clashes against Miller.
Eldorado Park-based Miller whose last fight was a victory over Noxolo Makhanavu from Scenery Park in East London at the Steve Tshwete Banquet Hall in Middelburg, Mpumalanga, four months ago, has defeated Zuma twice before.
They first met at the Sandton Convention Centre in Johannesburg in 2018 and the second fight was held at the Nangoza Jebe Hall in New Brighton, Gqeberha, where Miller defended her then SA female bantamweight title a year later.
