Former South African title contender Xolisile Voyi from Mdantsane is the new Eastern Cape flyweight champion.
This came after Voyi outpointed Masixole Langa in a 10 rounds bout where both boxers gave as much as they got at the Ginsberg Community Hall in Qonce on Sunday evening.
As a result of the win, Voyi, who is trained by Luyanda Sovasi, has improved his record to 13 victories and six losses. The win will, surely, also result in the improvement in Voyi’s rating.
Voyi once challenged for the SA flyweight title and he lost by a majority decision to former national champion Thembelani Nxoshe in July 2017.
