Ayanda Ndulani retained his International Boxing Organisation (IBO) minimumweight title after he defeated Siphamandla Baleni on a split decision at East London’s International Convention Centre (ICC) on Sunday evening.

Defending his title for the second successive time against the same boxer, Ndulani emerged victorious against all the odds. Two judges had Ndulani winning by 117-111 and 116-114 while the third gave the fight to Baleni by 118-110.

This was definitely not an easy fight as the way Baleni fought made it clear that he wanted to dethrone Ndulani. He, however, didn’t do enough to wrestle the title away from Ndulani, who beat him for the second time.
