Nozipho Bell from Gqeberha is scheduled to defend her South African female junior-lightweight title against Ntombokuqala Tolashe next month.

Bell faces Tolashe at the same venue – Nangoza Jebe Hall in New Brighton, Gqeberha – where she defeated her for the national title in July last year. The return fight is pencilled for Sunday, 2 October.

Walmer-based Bell has only fought once – a vacant International Boxing Federation (IBF) Intercontinental female junior-lightweight title fight against Matshidiso Mokebisi in December last year – since her fight with Tolashe.

On the other hand, Tolashe has had three fights, winning twice and losing once. She defeated Mashudu Ramakwelo in August and Raider Muleba last December.

She then lost to former SA and World Boxing Federation (WBF) female bantamweight champion Bukiwe Nonina in September last year.
