Plans to get talented East London boxer Nhlanhla ‘Mount Kilimanjaro’ Tyirha move further up the International Boxing Federation (IBF) ratings have been set in motion as he is returning to the ring next month.
Tyirha is going to fight against Filipino boxer Orlie Silvestre in an IBF Intercontinental junior-flyweight title contest in October.
The 28-year-old Silvestre from MP Boxing Gym in Davao becomes the fourth Pinoy boxer to face Tyirha since May last year. Tyirha has beaten Silvestre’s compatriots Esneth Domingo, Jaysever Abcede and Joey Canoy.
This is going to be the former South African junior-flyweight champion’s first fight since he joined Rumble Africa Promotions (RAP) last month.
Meanwhile, Tyirha is rated 15th by the IBF, seventh by the World Boxing Council (WBC) and the World Boxing Organisation (WBO) rates him in sixth place.
