Arthur Zwane doesn’t believe his players won’t give their all when his team Kaizer Chiefs face Lamontville Golden Arrows just six days before the Soweto against Orlando Pirates.
Instead, the Chiefs coach reckons that his players’ focus is on Sunday’s DStv Premiership match against Abafana Bes’thende at the Peter Mokaba Stadium in Polokwane starting at 15h30.
“It’s about the mindset. It’s how you prepare your players also to focus on this one before the derby. And I think if there’s one thing that we’ve been doing right is to make sure that players understand that we take one game at a time. We’re focusing on ourselves and that’s the only way you can get it right,” Zwane said.
Zwane revealed that Amakhosi defender Mulowandau ‘Tower’ Mathoho, who has missed out on a number of matches because of injuries, is injured again.
“We lost Tower again. We thought he was getting close to start again. Unfortunately, we lost him. One thing I know for sure is Tower is not going to be available for this one. He might be out for a long time,” Zwane remarked.
Apart from Mathoho, Dillan Solomons, Cole Alexander, Khama Billiat and Nkosingiphile Ngcobo are still out injured.
“It’s the story of our season in terms of not keeping the same team maybe for about two, three games. It’s part of the game. We just have to come up with a plan as we usually do,” Zwane said.
