The date for Sivenathi ‘Special One’ Nontshinga’s world title defence against Regie Suganob from the Philippines has been changed.
Nontshinga was scheduled to defend his International Boxing Federation (IBF) junior-flyweight title against Suganob on Friday next week. The tournament has now been changed to Sunday, 2 July and will be held at the East London International Convention Centre (ICC).
This is going to be the 24-year-old Nontshinga’s first defence of the title he won when he handed Mexican boxer Hector Flores his first career defeat during a fight held in Hermosillo, Mexico, in September last year.
Contacted for the comment, Rumble Africa Promotions (RAP) chief executive officer Nomfesane Nyatela said they would make an announcement regarding the tournament.
Meanwhile, Ink Sport has it on good authority that next month’s tournament is going to be shown live on pay TV SuperSport.
