Sabelo Ngebiyana gets another opportunity to show Tanzanian boxing followers that he is indeed the real African Boxing Union (ABU) junior-featherweight champion.
Ngebiyana from Komani in the Eastern Cape clashes with Tanzanian boxer Tony Rashid Ngongo, whose ring name is Tony Rashid, in a rematch in Tanzania on Saturday, 24 June.
“It’s a rematch of the ABU title against Tony Rashid. I hope that a win will take me to the top 15 in the WBC ratings,” the former South African junior-bantamweight champion said.
The two boxers met earlier this year and Rashid was declared the winner only for ABU president Houcine Houichi to change the verdict to a win for Ngebiyana 24 hours later. This was after Houichi discovered that fight supervisor Yahya Poli had messed up with the fight score cards something which resulted in Rashid being declared the winner.
