It’s finally happening following two postponements as Lunga ‘Pressure Cooker’ Sitemela challenges Steve Bagwasi in his Botswana backyard on Friday.

Bagwasi’s World Boxing Federation (WBF) junior-lightweight title is going to be at stake when he squares up against Sitemela at the Grand Palm Hotel and Casino Convention Centre in Gaborone. Bagwasi will be attempting to make a first successful defence of the title he won when he defeated Tanzanian Saidi Chino in August last year.

“I’m confident of winning this fight. I have worked very hard preparing for this fight. There was a time when I was about to give up on fighting for this title,” the South African junior-lightweight champion said.

Born in the Eastern Cape town of Dordrecht 31 years ago, Sitemela travelled to Botswana on Thursday hoping to return to his Cape Town base with glory.
