Regie ‘Filipino Phenom’ Suganob and his team have touched down at the King Phalo Airport in East London just six days before he challenges reigning International Boxing Federation (IBF) junior-flyweight champion Sivenathi ‘Special One’ Nontshinga at the International Convention Centre (ICC) this coming Sunday.

Suganob is out to attempt to make sure that Nontshinga fails at his first hurdle in his bid to successfully make a maiden title defence after he won the belt when he outpointed Mexican boxer Hector Flores in Hermosillo, Mexico, in September last year.

The 25-year-old Suganob from Bohol in the Philippines landed in East London together with head coach Edsel Burlas, head trainer Niñolito Jalnaiz, assistant trainer Edito Villamor and PMI Bohol Boxing Promotions Floriezly Podot.

“We have arrived in East London,” Podot, who also manages Suganob, said on Monday evening.

This is a very important fight for both boxers as Nontshinga will be out to make sure that he successfully defends his title while Suganob wants to upset the East London boxer in front of his home fans.
