Having soundly beaten Bangile Nyangani while at the same time he inflicted revenge on the Mthatha-born boxer following his loss in July 2021, newly-crowned South African minimumweight champion Siyakholwa Kuse now wants to hang on to his title as long as he can.
Kuse, who is trained by former SA flyweight champion Makazole Tete, dished out a fine performance on his way to reclaiming the title Nyangani captured from him almost two years ago.
“I was super fit for the fight. You will remember that I had been in camp since January preparing for the fight. What people saw on Sunday was a result of a long camp,” Kuse said.
Kuse’s duel with Nyangani was probably the best fight of the Rumble Africa Promotions (RAP) tournament held at the East London International Convention Centre (ICC) as the Mdantsane boxer toyed with his opponent from Mthatha hitting him at will.
After he succeeded in his mission to reclaim the national title, Kuse insisted that he’s going to hold on to the belt and make sure that whoever challenges him suffers inside the ring.
“We are still looking at who wants to fight against me. This title is mine and is going nowhere. I’m going to hold on to it for a very long time. Anyone who wants this title must come and get punished,” Kuse remarked.
