Hasanboy Dusmatov from Uzbekistan scored a unanimous decision victory over Siphamandla ‘Toytoy’ Baleni in a 10 rounds international bout held at the Red Arena in Krasnaya, Polyana, Russia, on Monday evening.
Stocky Baleni from Mthatha held his own against Dusmatov, who is a 2016 Olympic gold medallist. The unbeaten 30-year-old Dusmatov has since maintained his 100 percent record following the win over the former South African minimumweight and junior-flyweight champion.
This was the 32-year-old Baleni’s first fight since he stopped Mzamo Makhipheni at East London’s Orient Theatre in December last year.
Baleni has now dropped to 21 wins (eight knockouts), six defeats and two draws while California-based Dusmatov has improved to six victories with five stoppages.
