Astute boxing trainer Vusi Mtolo is confident that Khanyile ‘Man Dee’ Bulana is going to deliver.
Bulana from Scenery Park in East London challenges Italian and current International Boxing Organisation (IBO) junior-lightweight champion Michael Magnesi at the Palazzetto Valle Martella Zagarolo in Lazio, Italy, on Friday evening.
“We have made the weight. We have also found out that Magnesi is shorter than our boxer. Bulana is ready for this fight and is going to deliver,” Mtolo said from Italy.
Initially, the opportunity to challenge Magnesi was offered to Azinga ‘Golden Boy’ Fuzile. But Rumble Africa Promotions (RAP) international adviser Colin ‘Nomakanjani’ Nathan opted for Bulana to challenge Magnesi instead of Fuzile.
This was so because Nathan was working on getting Fuzile to fight in an International Boxing Federation (IBF) junior-lightweight elimination bout. Fuzile is now going to face Martin Ward from the United Kingdom in an eliminator in Las Vegas, United States, in May.
Meanwhile, Mtolo is going to be assisted by Johan Truter to guide Bulana in this fight as Nathan is in Tunis, Tunisia, finalising IBF flyweight champion Moruti ‘Babyface’ Mthalane’s preparations before his fourth defence against Sunny Edwards from the UK in London on Friday, 30 April.
