The eleventh hour cancellation of his fight against Fedor Michel from Germany has really disappointed unbeaten South African boxer Asemahle ‘The Predator’ Wellem.
Chintsa-born Wellem was due to face Michel in a fight, which would have pitted two unbeaten boxers against each other, at Showpalast in Munich, Germany, next Saturday.
However, an injury the 22-year-old Michel from Bayern in Munich picked up at training forced the cancellation of the fight much to the reigning South African super-middleweight champion’s disappointment.
“I’m very disappointed with the cancellation of the fight. What makes me more disappointed is the fact that the fight got cancelled at the eleventh hour. We were ready to travel to Germany after working very hard at the gym preparing for the fight,” Wellem, who was due to leave for Germany on Wednesday, said.
This was going to be Wellem’s third fight this year having beaten Alex Kabangu Tshiamuanda in a 10 rounds bout and Twaha Kassimu Rubaha during a World Boxing Foundation (WBF) Intercontinental super-middleweight title fight.
