A malicious Facebook post, which reported that former South African junior-flyweight champion Nhlanhla ‘Mount Kilimanjaro’ Tyirha had passed away turned out to be a very big lie.
Mdantsane-born Tyirha is alive and kicking and was never involved in a car accident as it was written on Facebook on Wednesday.
“I’m alive. People are naughty. I don’t know how the lie started because I was fixing my car today. I was not involved in an accident,” Tyirha said when contacted by Ink Sport on Wednesday evening.
Tyirha has been fight-starved since his shock loss to George Kandulo from Malawi at the East London International Convention Centre (ICC) in July last year. – Monwabisi Jimlongo
