Pitso Mosimane has left Abha Club after he failed to save the side from getting relegated from the Saudi Pro League to the Yellow League following their 2-1 loss to Al Hazem at the Al-Hazm Stadium on Monday evening.
Muhammed Badammosi and Mohammed Al-Thain netted for Al Hazem after Ahmed Abdoh Jaber had given Abha the lead.
“I took a risk and came to a team at the bottom of the league. I knew it was a difficult task, but I had hope when we got out of the danger zone three times. Everything must be accepted and my contract with the club expires today (Monday),” Mosimane said after Monday’s match.
Mosimane joined Abha in January this year with the sole mission of saving them from relegation and they were on 14 points from 19 matches at the time of his arrival. Abha managed to collect 18 points from 15 games under the former Al Ahly and Mamelodi Sundowns mentor.
