Long-serving Chippa United player and the club’s former captain Andile Mbenyane has retired from football after serving the Eastern Cape-based Chilli Boys for more than a decade.
Mbenyane, who was born in Mbekweni, Paarl, started playing for the Chilli Boys when they were still campaigning in the then Vodacom League, now called the ABC Motsepe League.
The 36-year-old Mbenyane had been with the Chilli Boys through thick and thin, seeing a number of coaches coming and leaving the Gqeberha-based Premiership club.
